When does Anet do Design A Weapon contest? - Guild Wars Forums

Title sums it up. I'm just wondering if there are specific times during the year, or do they just decide "We're not doing anything. Let's start the contest!"

When they are bored. They probs won't be doing another though until we see gw2 and it will probably be for gw2

Agreed.
There's only been 2. One in 2005, the other in 2007. Both were used to find interesting designs for items to be in Factions (2005) and EotN (2007).

I doubt they'll do it for the release of GW2 since they're trying to attract a new fan base with it, and it'd be a bit unfair to exclude them! But after a while, or in time for the first expansion or whatever.
